Local Assistance Board

This board consists of 5 citizens appointed by the Township Manager to oversee functions of the General Assistance Program as administered by the Director if Welfare. The establishment of the LAB is a statutory requirement of each municipality. The LAB studies the employment possibilities in local industry, health, housing, and social conditions of the community. Analysis of municipal financial needs insofar as they relate to general assistance is also a matter for this board. All members of the LAB are volunteers and conduct business in public meetings at the Municipal Building.
