MONMOUTH COUNTY BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS HONORS ABERDEEN RESIDENT ADELINE ARNOLD FOR ENVIRONMENTAL WORK
ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP (9/2/09) – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders recently honored Aberdeen resident and longtime environmentalist Adeline Arnold by proclaiming “Adeline Arnold Day’ in Monmouth County for her 31 years of service on the Monmouth County Solid Waste Advisory Council.
The proclamation, granted on the occasion of Arnold’s retirement from the Council, noted her “passionate environmental perspective,” “experience” and service to many municipal and civic organizations.
An Aberdeen resident since 1964, Arnold also served from 1972 to 2007 on the Aberdeen Township Environmental and Shade Tree Advisory Board. For 22 of her 35 years on the Aberdeen Board, she served as chairman, and at one time, as its secretary. She remains active with the New Jersey League of Women Voters.
Commenting on Arnold’s service to the community, Aberdeen Township Councilman Fred Tagliarini said: “Having been a volunteer in the community for the past 20 years, nothing is more sacred to me than someone who volunteers their time and service to the community, especially when it comes to environmental issues. For more than 35 years, Adeline Arnold has been instrumental in the fight to preserve and protect our natural resources for future generations.”
